OK, I mentioned about Warp frag but I had no intention to make a rage wall. I just wanted to tell you seriousness about using Warp shards.
Basically, all Korean players uses SC2Tools to modify inventory hotkey, changing 'num pad 0' into 'S' or 'D'. Then you can easily use warp shard as a basic skill. But you may doubt here, 'If they use Warp shards, why don't you use them either? Why is that problem?' But my answer is 'No, it IS a serious problem' and I'll try to explain why.
First of all, using Warp shards makes whole difference. Shadow using Warp&Vortex or Maar using Warp&Slow or Mandrake using Warp&Stun. What makes common of everybody using warp shards is that "It is more likely that gameplay becomes 'warp&stun' or 'warp&avoid'."
Consider this : SOTIS map has lots of hills. If enemy hero uses warp shard and blink over the hill, then there's no way to catch him unless you also have an Warp shard. Or unless you have stun skills. Warp shards enables battle engage & evasion by using hills. When everybody can use warp shards and evade up to hills or down to rivers, then whole game point becomes totally different : how to notice enemy heroes down or up the hils then 'stun' them.
This becomes very obvious when you are in Elite KOR games, because Rancor uses sensory scanner. You can easily evade by using warp shards when you engage, but that means enemy heroes can ALSO evade easily by using warp shards. How can you kill enemy heroes on 1vs1 with No-stun-heroes such as Lord.Zirkan when every body can evade Zirkan's ulti by using warp shards? Then, the only way to kill heroes definitely is using 'combo stuns'.
'Combo stuns'. Examples such as Rancor using snipe + Mandrake's warp stun. Or Gravitus's Warp slow & Mandrake's warp stun. Or Rancor's snipe & Shadow's warp Vortex. (This examples are most popular combo stuns in KOR) Especially in early games, combo stuns are so powerful that your hero have no chance of surviving against combo stuns even when you have full health. Combo stun and kill heroes with in few seconds BEFORE enemy hero warps back and escape. And THAT becomes the whole point of entire game.
Plus, Elite KOR players uses 'Level up stun' or shortly 'Up-stun'.
'Up-stun' : when you put skill points into stun skills such as Snipe or Mandrake's stun, then the skill cooldown is reset and you can instantly stun again. So you save your skill points, and you can instantly stun 2 times. Like this : Rancor uses his level 1 Snipe in Level 3(not spent 1 skill point) - then his quickly put skill points to level 2 snipe by using hotkeys - before level 1 snipe is finished, you instantly snipe again with level 2 snipe(because snipe cooldown reset to zero by level uping your snipe skill). This 'Up-stun' is very important, because this is the technique of Elite KOR players.
So, combo stuns + 'up-stuns' counters warp shards evasion. Reversely, this means that heroes with no stuns are too much less powered versus stun hereoes. Stun hereoes such as Rancor/Mandrake/Shadow can stun and combo-stun and 'up-stun', with chance or survivability by using warp shards. But hereoes such as Boros or Zirkan can not fight back against this heroes, because Boros stun missile is too slow and Zirkan has no stuns. (This techique works on ultimate skills, such as Rancor's Nukes. Elite Rancor players saves 1 skill point in level 11, and when battle engage on entire team with 5 vs 5 situation, Rancor uses level 1 nuke & quickly put skill points to level 2 nuke by using hotkeys & use level 2 nuke again. This technique is called 'Up-Nuke'.)
Or, if you don't have stuns, the point is 'how to deal massive damage in SECONDS'. The reason why Shadow or Tbone is overpowered in this kind of Warp-shards-games is that they can both deal enormous damage in few seconds with shadow walk & vortex & shade, or with captivate clip charges and Tbone's skills.
Think about this : Everybody using warp shards, so every body can easily escape. And because of that, team selects FAST STUN or RANGED STUN heroes to COMBO-STUN or UP-STUN enemy heroes to COUNTER WARP SHARD ESCAPING. In 9 out of 10 elite games, Rancor/Mandrake/Shadow is fixed selection. The most serious problem of using warp shard is, that the whole point is 'how to STUN LONGER and how to DEAL MASSIVE DAMAGE IN SECONDS BEFORE enemy heroe uses his warp shards and escapses.'
Then, the result is obvious. RANGED-FAST STUN heroes or HIGH DPS HEROES are definitely much more powerful, So heroes such as Unix or Darpa has no chance to be selected in Elite games. This is the point that too much imbalances are caused between heroes in team-games, and this explains why so many KOR players selects Rancor/Gravitus/Shadow/Mandrake/Tassadar/Tbone and why Boros/Zirkan/Unix/Darpa/Zombie are NOT selected
